Inversions can be a fun and challenging aspect of the yoga asana practice! In this 2-hour workshop, we will focus on establishing a well-aligned foundation to safely practice inverted postures like Headstand, Forearm Stand, and Handstand. We will start with a breath-centered flow to warm up the body and open up the shoulders, wrists, and hamstrings. Then we'll work on some core-strengthening exercises and shoulder-integration and hamstring-strengthening movements. We will explore different versions of Headstand, Forearm Stand, and Handstand at the wall, with variations to make these postures more accessible and to also build strength, eventually having the option to try them away from the wall. We will close the practice with some grounding postures and breathwork. Throughout the workshop, the emphasis will be on moving mindfully and having fun!
Class size will be limited to ensure personalized attention from the instructor and wall accessibility.
